Mia Martini in concerto, da un’idea di Maurizio Giammarco

Fonit Cetra 1991

Mia Martini (voce) – Maurizio Giammarco (saxes) – Ramberto Ciammarughi (piano, keyb) – Dario La Penna (guitar) – Ron Seguin (bass) – Manhu Roche (drums)

Conceived by Adele di Palma (Cose di Musica) the tour that was organized with the late Mia Martini in 1991, together with the musicians who were playing with me at that time, produced this album that collects the best of the live recordings of those concerts, strictly returned to the listener in their original version. In hindsight, this was the first major collaboration between pop music and jazz worlds (which later became fashionable), and this album sold figures perhaps not adequate to pop standards, but certainly unimaginable for a jazz record. And this is almost entirely a jazz record, because the idea was right that, even in the more properly pop songs, appropriately rearranged by me. Mia’s singing skills remain out of the question, just listen to Love For Sale.
